The "Blizzard" History

Blizzard was established in August of 2000 as a 501(c3) Non-Profit orgaization from Murfreesboro, TN. Blizzard originally started out as nothing but a drumline, but it was decided by the drumline to turn Blizzard into a drum and bugle corps. Blizzard is currently competiting in FDCI (Fantasy Drum Corps International) and is a member of FDCS (Fantasy Drum Corps South). Auditions and rehearsals began in early September of 2000 with 132 corps members and 12 staff members. In January of 2001, Blizzard was ready to begin competition. Blizzard had a "roller coaster" season and finally finished FDCI Season 11 in 50th place at FDCI World Championships. The age range for the "A" Corps is anywhere from 14 to 21. Blizzard went inactive in 2004 with the announcement that the FDCI circuit would no longer be running. Blizzard came out of inactivity when the corps joined the DCPI circuit in April of 2010.
